New to Homeschooling in AZ?
Parents of homeschooled students ages 6-16 are required to file a notarized Affidavit of Intent to Homeschool with the County School Superintendent within 30 days of starting to homeschool.
STEPS TO GET STARTED:
- Print the Affidavit of Intent to Homeschool form. This can also be found on your county website, or at the AFHE link here.
- Obtain an official copy of your child’s Birth Certificate
- Locate your county superintendent
- Get the affidavit notarized and make a copy
- Submit affidavit and birth certificate either via mail or in person
- Read all the AZ Homeschooling laws carefully. Homeschooling in Arizona is much different (and, most of the time, much easier) than homeschooling in other states.
** NOTE: If you choose to use ESA funds, you do not file an affidavit since "ESA" is a different category.
